What
Is the Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair
&
Painting Program (RRP)?
-
The Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting Program is
a federal regulatory program affecting contractors, property
managers, and others who disturb painted surfaces.
-
It
applies to residential houses, apartments, and child-occupied
facilities such as schools and day-care centers built before
1978.
-
It
includes
pre-renovation education requirements as well as training,
certification, and work practice requirements.

Assa Abloy engages Litchfield to recreate the Innovation Hallway in
the corporate heaquarters in New Haven. In addition a “Green Room”
is added showcasing the door and lock manufacturers latest “green”
products. All design and construction is completed on schedule
prior to the annual meeting.

Kevin Ahern takes classes to become CGP –
Certified Green professional. Through the National Green Building
Program, the National Association of Home Builders is helping its
members move the practice of green building into the mainstream.
Energy efficiency, water and resource conservation, sustainable or
recycled products, and indoor air quality are increasingly
incorporated into the everyday process of home building and
remodeling. |

Congratulations to Kevin Ahern on winning Home Builders Association

celebrates the official move of its headquarters to State Street in
Hamden. More than triple the size of the old building, Litchfield
fuels its growth and presence as one of the area’s best general
contractors. With an expanded Millwork operation and storage
facility they will be able to handle more projects in the coming

New Haven Coliseum. Litchfield Builders, Inc. along with 200+

people come through the coliseum every year and have the
opportunity to speak with representatives of a variety of

Kevin Ahern of
Litchfield Builders holds a free seminar on “Understanding the
process of remodeling” through the Wallingford adult education
program. The class was attended by over 25 people and the feedback
was overwhelming!

HBA New Haven
holds class on MEC check at the office in Branford. 20 members and
non members of the association attended a seminar put on by the
State of Connecticut regarding the Model Energy Code and how to
use the computerized system as well as the paper system to comply
with the rules for new code. |

Builders wins HBA of Connecticut HOBI Award for best remodeling
project over 2 Million Dollars in the state of Connecticut. The
entire staff was on hand for the presentation of the award at the
Aqua Turf in Cheshire, CT |

PRESS RELEASE -
Litchfield Builders Inc. in partnership with the New Haven Parks
department, Public Works, Fire Department and the Mayors office
built a memorial to the victims of the World Trade Center /
Pentagon Tragedy on Thursday.
Special thanks to Litchfield Builders staff members - Jim Ahern,
Jeff Belair, Jason Chapman, Harold Gillungham, Paul Clarke, Aklvin
Duncan, Will Van Hooten and Justin Betcke for all their hard work
to complete the structure in under 8 hours.
Also thanks to Larry Yelle of Best Connections Plumbing and
Heating and Lighthouse Landscaping for donating their time. Also
thanks to Whalley Hardware Supply and East Haven Builders Supply
for donating the materials for the memorial. |
