Building and remodeling is a little different at Litchfield Builders. We are the exception in the remodeling business. Our people are uniformed, our trucks and our jobs are super clean, and we do what we say. We continually strive to improve. Long ago, we identified the things our clients valued in us and used those things as our business model.

The process of the typical remodeling project:

In our initial conversation we discuss the desired modifications, see what role a design professional will play and try to establish a preliminary project budget for feasibility. After a site review, the preliminary project budget will be modified and the project itself may be adjusted to fit that budget. From this point we will sign an agreement to take the estimating and specifications to the contracting stage. This agreement is used to assure both the client and our staff that we are working towards a common goal, turning your house into a dream home. We then produce contract documents and establish a schedule. From this point our project managers and craftspeople takeover.

Our people work quickly in an effort to minimize disruption to the client’s life. We do the majority of the work with our own employees, this adds value and allows us to have greater control over scheduling. We also use a tried and true group of subcontractors and suppliers that offer consistent quality. We offer more project site administration than the average company. We have learned through the years that clients are willing to pay for a person to be on the job consistently and this has become our standard.

At the end of a project, we work to close out the project as quickly as possible. This means taking care of all inspections and last minute details. A final walkthrough and our client can get on with life in their newly created or renovated space.
